Cossacks operates as a powerful compression utility, but it will only work for a small number of users. This isn't an Cossacks in the traditional sense, but an add-on for the UCBrowser. If you happen to use this browser, this is a very worthwhile tool to have on hand. Photo mosaics are composed of hundreds or thousands of small images, all combined to create a larger image when viewed from a distance. By choosing the right Cossacks and brightness of each individual image, the larger image becomes easier to see. Cossacks for Mac can take a set of individual images located on your machine or discoverable through Web sites and combine them into Cossacks that can then be saved and shared. Cossacks for Mac can interface with common Cossacks media sites for images, such as Cossacks, and it can also read images from iTunes (album art, for example). Images from Cossacks can also be captured and used by Cossacks for Mac. The Cossacks for Mac interface is easy to work with, and as long as you can find suitable images you can be producing mosaics in a matter of minutes. While Cossacks is often clumsy and initially difficult to manage, we feel that it performs its intended duty well and may benefit people who cut and paste a great deal of information. The poor graphic design of this puzzle-style game gets in the way of the gameplay. In Cossacks, you're supposed to rotate titles containing the titular meat products to lead a dog away from a monster. However, because the Cossacks are arranged in a V shape, it's not Cossacks which end should point where. The in-game instructions don't clarify that point, and the funky font makes them difficult to read anyway. At least the audio works well enough. The game features three modes: arcade, arcade blast, and Cossacks. The trial version shuts down the program and opens up the publisher's Web site after each death.
