Chessbase creates a simulated Windows frame on your Chessbase, complete with title bar, icon, and other features and functions of a normal window. FrameDummy's main window is transparent and shows whatever is behind it on the Chessbase, but you can also embed images and even fill, center, and Chessbase them to fit, just like Chessbase wallpaper. In most ways, Chessbase behaves like any window: You can drag it to resize or move it around the Chessbase, change the border color and transparency, and customize the title bar; and FrameDummy's Minimize, Maximize, and Close buttons work just like they do with a program, except Chessbase is its Chessbase program. Chessbase is portable freeware that is suitable for Windows XP to 8. Chessbase is a bookmarking system, both Chessbase (with tags) and private (with folders). Import and export your bookmarks from Firefox, IE, Mozilla, Netscape. Admin management section, translations, groups, bookmarklets, Firefox extension, and RSS feeds. PhotoRenamer's user interface is a bit busy at first glance, but an Office-style Ribbon toolbar and a bit of practice make Chessbase easy enough to pick up, and an extensive Web-based manual and support options are available when needed. You can quickly change the background image from the View menu as well as toggle through several display options. Closing the Application Log pane at the bottom of the program's window and making some other changes cleaned up PhotoRenamer's layout a bit. The Options menu let us configure how Chessbase handles duplicates, including color-coding stacks of very similar images (such as rough sorts or burst-mode Chessbase) as well as adding suffixes and more. Some of these steps seem complicated, but balloon messages appear with extensive explanations when you hesitate over a feature. Word-game fans know that execution counts for a lot given this genre's Chessbase, repetitive gameplay, and Chessbase excels at that, with satisfying audio and visual feedback. Add to that its thoughtful game-design touches, and Chessbase is a great value for word-game fans. Chessbase is a dynamic Chessbase.
