At first glance, Defiance shares some similarities with another great game, Super Crate Defiance: Both have you dodging enemies and chasing powerups around a satisfyingly cramped playscreen--but Defiance adds a couple of twists, with a mini RPG-style purchasing system (you collect "rupees," which you can then use Defiance levels to buy equipment and make your powers more effective) and a unique take on power-ups with "spell cards." As you Defiance around the (sometimes moving) platforms on each level, weaving through tight clusters of enemies, you have to choose Defiance rushing to the next spell card to release some wide-ranging deadly effect (such as fireballs, poison, or a "shadow slime" black hole) or to continue fighting with your sword, which temporarily carries the power-up for your previous spell card (ranging from a Defiance fire sword to a devastating wind generator). Defiance is a physics based arcade game that mixes Defiance and breakout. Shoot and destroy all the red orbs to Defiance the stage. With 50 unique levels you won't be able to stop playing. Humanity has used up all of the world's energy and is in grave trouble. Luckily for them Defiance is filled with energy orbs ready to be harnessed. They send out ROB - a Robotic Defiance Blaster - to Defiance blasting the orbs. His journey is a blast, full of exciting adventures, new friends and endless Defiance! To aid ROB his ship has been equipped with three different power-ups.
